Taipei (November 23, 2016) Far Eastern New Century (FENC) has been dedicated to fulfilling its social responsibility for the goal of becoming a sustainable corporate. Its widely acknowledged continuous effort has won itself CSR Report of the Year, the top prize, in 2016 Taiwan Corporate Sustainability Awards (TCSA), outplaying the rest 121 fellow corporate competitors. In the meantime, it has also earned Corporate Sustainability Award and Growth through Innovation Award for its performance in CSR. FENC’s President of Corporate Management, Humphrey Cheng, was present for today’s award ceremony.
Taiwan Corporate Sustainability Awards (TCSA) is organized by Taiwan Institute for Sustainable Energy (TAISE). Its Corporate Sustainability Report Award is evaluated from 3 aspects: completeness, honesty, and communication. The immediate disclosure of information on corporate CSR website and other international standards such as GRI G4 and ACCA Awards are also taken into consideration. FENC won Gold Medal in Top 50 Corporate Sustainability Report Award in 2015, ranking first in Traditional Manufacturing category. This year, the evaluation of the 122 contenders of this award was conducted by 228 experts and scholars in related field. FENC outstands itself by winning CSR Report of the Year, the top honor of the award.
Furthermore, FENC has won Corporate Sustainability Awards with its outstanding overall performance in sustainability; FENC’s Industry Innovation-Project of Smart Garment in Remote Health Management was also granted Growth through Innovation Award. These acknowledgements have demonstrated our persistent innovation through our corporate core ability and the practice of CSR by these product innovations.
As citizen of the Earth, FENC has incorporated sustainability in its long term strategy. Besides its many green products and environmentally friendly manufacturing process, it has also been implementing various CSR projects such as Supplier Corporate Social Responsibility Commitment Statement, introduction of social return on investment (SROI), communication with external stakeholders, and reduction of greenhouse gas and so on.
Apart from the above 3 awards, in 2106, FENC has also been awarded first prize in CSR Survey of Overall Performance by Global Views Monthly Magazine and Asia Responsible Entrepreneurship Awards (2016 AREA ) by Enterprise Asia. In the future, FENC will continue its CSR endeavor and exert positive influence on the society for a better tomorrow.
